"A corporation is traditionally an entity that exists for one primary reason, to make money. What if the primary reason for being in business were to make the world a better place?"

"I believe humanity is ready to become wise"

"Humans created the problems we face, therefore humans can solve them"

"The approaching zeitgeist makes now an awfully exciting time to be alive"

"the two most pressing issues facing humanity are environmental degradation and the widening gap between the rich and poor"

"There are root problems facing humanity globally that when addressed, will over time automatically solve many of the resulting problems we see in our day-to-day lives"

"The values ‘for profit’ businesses thrive upon have infiltrated all aspects of society right across the globe"

"The dictionary definition of greed is the quality of wanting more than ones share"

"I believe there’s a greater fulfillment available to all of us"

"By 'not for profit' I mean 'not for the profit of individuals'"

"Perhaps looking out for one another is more important than looking out for oneself"

17-Feb-10 1 Brisbane Queensland Australia Im excited about reading the prospects that this book puts forward. Sounds like a much needed and interesting concept. Once we can change people's ego and non-community minded nature...maybe then it will work.

10-Feb-09 1 Taree NSW Australia How is the book going? I have read it further, and your theory is good. How do you change greedy people. Perhaps by getting the message out, but then people must want to change.
Bryce: Hi Aunty V, publicity starts next Monday Feb 16. We can’t forcibly change people obviously, but I believe if we can show a better and wiser way to live, which brings better outcomes in an individuals life, they will embrace change. The Too Hard Basket might encourage some to want to change, but I feel dramatic change is more likely to occur within the NFPOIs where staff will be trained and encouraged to improve their own life and the lives of those around them. If these staff are becoming happier and more content individually, they will become highly committed to the NFPOI and its values. In turn they will do everything they can to see the business succeed. They will effectively become part of a movement. The NFPOIs mission statement is ‘to strive to improve the quality of life for the greatest number of people, while reducing environmental impact’. This is their reason for being in business, they will not exist to make a minority wealthy, their purpose is entirely different.

08-Oct-07 1 POTTS POINT NSW Australia Hi Bryce - your project is doomed- having said that I hope you will try even harder and SUCCEED. Your key problem is the human genome - it's faulty, regrettably - one of those foibles of nature - and in it's usually efficient way, the Universe will ...
Bryce: This gentleman went on to say 'the Universe will take care of the problem'. I assume by this he meant we will all one day die, perhaps he is referring to our ultimate extinction. He also said he hopes success is realised, suggesting it is possible to change. In 100 years most of us will be long gone, but our influence will have helped create that world. What sort of world it will be partly depends on what you and I do, or fail to do.
